Yahoo! and Eurosport launch joint sports site

LONDON - Yahoo! and Eurosport have today launched a pan-European sports information and community site.

The collaboration, Yahoo! Eurosport, launches today in the UK and Ireland, Germany, Spain and Italy, creating an online sports news and community destination. The co-branded sites, , , and , will combine Eurosport editorial content with Yahoo!’s online community experience.

The sites will feature news, 24/7 sports coverage, interactive games and a forum for sports fans to communicate and share opinions.

Yahoo! Eurosport will offer a video advertising platform, where users can switch channels and surf content. The site features other rich media ad formats, sponsored links, and Yahoo! Answers, the advice-sharing platform.

Laurent Eric Le Lay, chairman and CEO of Eurosport, said: "We are building a powerhouse that integrates both Eurosport and Yahoo! resources to provide a better user experience and a highly attractive, continent-wide audience for advertisers in an unrivalled on air/online cross media offer,”.

The Eurosport Group is a European multimedia platform. It owns Eurosport, Eurosport 2, eurosport.com, Eurosportnews, and mobile channel, Eurosport Mobile.
