will be a subsidiary of BrandAlley France, which sells and ships more than 40,000 fashion and homeware products each month.
The two-year-old French site sells to its membership base of more than 1.3m customers, and also allows brands to manage their own virtual shops.
The UK site will focus on high-end sales, aiming to offer "incredible" value on premium designer fashion brands.
The site marks the first investment made by News International in a standalone fashion e-commerce business.
Clive Milner, group managing director at News International, said: "BrandAlley already has a proven track record in France and we are confident that, together with News International's backing and consumer reach, we can create a great business in a rapidly growing sector."
BrandAlley is financially backed by Banexi Ventures, CDC Enterprises and A Plus Finance.
Sven Lung, chief executive and founder of BrandAlley said: "I believe that the e-commerce adventure is only just beginning. It is only now that we have funds, technology, know-how and consumers all coming together at the same time to really make this distribution channel soar.
"The private sale concept is huge in France and has only just reached these shores. As a leading internet business with the backing of News International, we have great ambitions to become UK market leaders in this fast growing sector."
