News International sells Broadsystem to Skipton

LONDON - Skipton Information Group, the parent company of EuroDirect, Callcredit and Gmap Consulting, has acquired Broadsystem from News International for an undisclosed sum.

Skipton aims to use the acquisition of Broadsystem to strengthen its position in the provision of data and database services and credit referencing.

Broadsystem, which has 218 employees across two sites in London and Bristol, will continue to operate out of its Gerrards Cross head office and Bristol communications centre.

Caroline Worboys remains as Broadsystem's CEO and will also join the Skipton Information group board.

Broadsystem has clients across the telecommunications, charity and publishing sectors, one of the most notable being News International.

Mike Green, CEO of Skipton Information Group, said: "The Broadsystem business model allows us to offer our clients the ability to interact on a more personal basis with their consumers and prospects."

Worboys said: "Being part of a specialist group will offer great potential for our continued growth.

"The deal also makes sense for News International as they focus on their core competencies and we are delighted that they remain an ongoing and committed client."
