Huggy hangs tough as Three Degrees singer is voted out

LONDON - Huggy Bear is proving to be the survivor on the current series of ITV's 'I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!' as he again escaped eviction and the public opted to kick out former Three Degrees singer Sheila Ferguson.

It must be the street smarts that Huggy, real name Antonio Fargas, picked up from his days on 'Starsky & Hutch'. Prior to yesterday's vote he was the 4/5 favourite to go with Ferguson behind him on 5/4.

However, his popularity soared after the public saw his sterling performance last night on the latest bushtucker trial in which he had slime, worms, insects, emu eggs and feathers tipped on his head from boxes that also contained stars.

The public opted instead to vote out Ferguson who told Ant and Dec that she had not enjoyed being on the show.

"It really was tougher than I expected, every trial was like three trials in one, and it took a lot of endurance... with losing people the dynamic was changing like that, so nobody had a chance to bond," she said.

The singer save most of her ire for former cocaine addict and bra model Sophie Anderton, who she labelled a spoilt brat.

"I can't stand her! Sophie is a little child and a spoilt brat. Sophie's so used to being pampered, but I think she's out of her depth, she's with grown-ups."

"If you talk about Sophie or her boyfriend Mark then she's happy. But she can't talk about anything except herself."

Anderton said last night she wanted to quit the jungle after being in floods of tears again.

Showing a sisterly solidarity Ferguson and said she wanted Janet Street-Porter to win although conceded that she probably would not.

"I want Janet to win but I think probably Joe or Paul will win," she said.

Yesterday saw comedian Joe Pasquale become the hottest favourite to date to be tipped to win the show.

His odds were slashed from 1/3 to 1/6 as he overtook the previous hottest favourite, Phil Tufnell, who was the 1/4 red-hot tip to become King of the Jungle.

Ladbrokes spokesman Warren Lush said: "Joe is unstoppable, punters are piling as much money as they can on him to win, believing he is almost certain to triumph. We are resigned to the fact that we'll be paying out on him soon. He is a man who gets on every bookmakers' nerves."
