Pasquale back on top in race for I'm a Celebrity crown

LONDON – Joe Paquale is back on track as favourite to win 'I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!' after a flurry of bets on Vic Reeves dried up following his surprise arrival, with the latest overnights revealing the show's popularity growing with 9.8m tuning in.

Squeeky-voiced Pasquale, who has been favourite since the start of the series, returned to the top spot today with odds of evens from 2/1 after a flurry of bets for late arriver Reeves dried up, leaving him at 3/1 from 6/4, according to bookmaker Ladbrokes.

Vic's wife Nancy Sorrell felt the effects of deceiving the camp about her husband joining the show, as her odds to win drifted to 16/1 from 12/1. Nancy was the only one in the jungle to know that husband Vic was on the way.

Ladbrokes spokesperson Warren Lush said: "The money has dried up for Vic and Nancy, viewers are not impressed by the way the jungle act knew all along they would be reunited. Nancy is now more likely to go, while Vic's odds of winning have drifted making him second favourite."

Last night's episode, where 'Shooting Stars' host Vic joined the jungle camp, garnered 9.8m viewers or a 40% share, bringing good news for ITV.

ITV's plan to get some on-screen action from glamour model Nancy and husband Vic was foiled yesterday as the blonde told the other contestants she won't be having sex on the show. "We are not going to be up there doing it, you know." The couple slept in separate bunk beds to avoid temptation.

Elsewhere, former East 17 singer Brian Harvey failed to impress the camp after collecting two stars in his bushtucker trial. Harvey was sprayed with fly attracting fluid and forced to eat pies containing either cherry and apple fillings or bugs.

After getting a sweet pie and a star for his first challenge, the singer bit into the second, which was full of green ants. He retrieved the star before screaming "Get me out of here".

Harvey went without food last night as a way of offering his apology to the camp.

Viewers voted for former Royal butler Paul Burrell to do tonight's "Temple of Doom" challenge, possibly the worst, where he will have to crawl through a cave full of rats and snakes.
