Ladbrokes make Reeves the new 6/4 favourite to win 'I'm A
Celebrity...', ahead of Joe Pasquale, who has seen his odds drifting from 6/4 to 2/1.
Ladbrokes spokesman Warren Lush said: "Vic has enormous public appeal and even though he's not been in there from the start he has to be made favourite to be King of the Jungle. We now see it as a battle of the comedians between Vic and Joe Pasquale."
His arrival comes as the latest overnights revealed a 2.8m drop in viewers. The comedian, famous for the BBC's 'Shooting Stars' and 'Reeves & Mortimer Show', is set to join wife Nancy and the nine other celebs this morning.
According to GMTV reporter Jenny Falconer, former lap dancer Nancy knows Vic is set to join them all in the jungle.
The news, if true, could not come at a better time as audience figures for last night's 9.45pm show dropped from 10.4m to 7.8m. However, the drop is largely to the Manchester United v Lyon match, which pushed 'I'm a Celebrity''s scheduling back, and the start of the US version 'Wife Swap' on Channel 4.
The jungle-mates have been convinced they are going to be joined by a couple of new celebrities because they have been building an extra large tree house and the producers have given them an extra large bed.
Producers will be hoping for the first 'I'm a Celebrity' sex session after Jordan and Peter Andre got pretty frisky down under last year.
Harvey's girlfriend model Emma B was widely reported to be a stand-by contestant and ITV was said to be in last-minute talks with England footballer Paul Gascoigne after he pulled out of the show last week.
As she emerges as a possible winner, mouthy pundit Janet Street-Porter was bitten three times by snakes in the latest bushtucker trial, winning nine out of the 10 meals, the best performance in the series so far.
The Independent on Sunday editor-at-large remained calm and collected as she put her hand in a snake pit, pushing the non-venomous snakes out of the way to collect the stars underneath.
