Vic Reeves is second to get the boot from I'm a Celebrity

LONDON - Comedian Vic Reeves was the second contestant to get voted off 'I'm a Celebrity.... Get Me Out of Here!' after being one of the original favourites to win the ITV show and a day after his wife Nancy got the boot.

Reeves, going by his real name Jim Moir, was odds-on favourite to win the show when he first entered the jungle as a surprise contestant last week.

Since the departure of his underwear model wife on Monday, he made constant pleas to viewers to evict him from the show. It seems he got his wish last night.

"When Nancy went, I got very miserable," he told Ant and Dec in a live TV interview.

"I was going to make a run for it. I would have pole-vaulted," he added later.

Antonio Fargas, aka 'Starsky and Hutch' character Huggy Bear, was the hot favourite to go last night with Sheila Ferguson from the Three Degrees and Reeves next up for the chop.

Huggy, who is generally thought to have failed to shine while in the jungle, and Ferguson are odds-on joint favourites for eviction tonight.

Meanwhile, Ladbrokes said that it had been forced to cut the odds on Joe Pasquale to 1/3, compared with 4/7 previously to win the show overall.

Warren Lush of Ladbrokes said: "Money suggests Joe could win by a mile, he is very similar to Tony Blackburn. Joe talks to emus like Tony talked to logs. The public have warmed to him, by the end of the week he could be as hot a favourite as Phil Tufnell was."

The squeeky-voiced comedian won the maximum eight meals in his first bushtucker trial last night, which saw him suspended from a helicopter above the ocean and climb down a rope ladder to release flags. Each flag equaled one meal.

Pasquale joked that the "Hell-o-copter challenge" had got £8 worth of his £12 pants caught up his arse and had cured his constipation.

Trailing Pasquale to win are Janet Street-Porter on 5/1, and Paul Burrell, one-time bookies' favourite to leave first, on 6/1.

William Hill has pushed former cocaine addict Sophie Anderton above nightclub owner Fran Cosgrove to win the show, in fourth and fifth position respectively.

The bookmakers has Fargas and Ferguson in equal last position to win, while Ladbrokes puts Ferguson well behind, with odds of 50/1.
