Fast Forward 15 aims to "develop aspiring female candidates in the events and hospitality industry through providing opportunities to gain visibility, exposure and confidence," according to Sharpe.
Twelve mentors for the Fast Forward 15 programme have been recruited, including AstraZeneca’s global events director Joanna Lawlor, Event’s very own editor-in-chief Yasmin Arrigo and Meenaz Lilani, executive director of global sales EMEA at FRHI Hotels & Resorts.
Sharpe told Event: "The mentoring programme will span across the sector, giving access and insight from some of the most senior figures in the industry, an inspiring portfolio of influential and select talent, willing to share their knowledge and experience with the stars of the future."
The programme is accredited by both Meeting Professionals International (MPI) and the HBAA, a trade association for the hotels, venues and booking agents community.
Sharpe added: "I am inviting interest from anyone who would like to get involved and have one last place remaining to be a mentor in this exciting programme. Formal details will be announced soon, which will coincide with the launch of the website and application process."
