The Titanic Projection Show will launch the £97 million visitor attraction Titanic Belfast by telling the story of the Titanic’s construction in Belfast and its maiden voyage. It is part of the extensive event programme to mark the centenary of Titanic’s sinking in 1912.
Visitors can watch the show from Albert Quay and The Slipways, the site where the ship was built.
The audio-visual performance will project onto . It will combine architectural projection, 3D motion graphics, synchronised pyrotechnics and music. The 40-minute show is produced by Culture Creative with support from White Light. It is designed and directed by creative technologists Seeper.com.
Zoe Bottrell, event producer at Culture Creative, said: "Seeper has taken its creative influence from the RMS Titanic itself, its construction, engineering, its journey and transformation, which is embodied in the continued life and spirit at Titanic Belfast. The audience will be plunged into an extraordinary immersive experience and public engagement with the project will be unparalleled."
The World Famous is providing the firework display, which will be echoed by projected images drawn in coloured sparks that appear to burst out of the building. Mike Roberts of The World Famous said: "This synchronisation between the projection, fireworks and music is technically challenging but will add a new and original dimension to the event."
After the opening show, Seeper.com will present interactive installations over three evenings, allowing visitors to transform the appearance of the building using live motion tracking and depth-sensing technology.
