, French marionette company Royal de Luxe is working with Liverpool City Council to bring the enormous puppets to the city from 20 - 22 April to commemorate the centenary of the Titanic disaster.
Xolo - a 200lb, 9ft dog puppet - will join the Little Girl Giant and the 30ft Giant Uncle puppets to roam the city, telling a story based around the liner’s sinking in 1912.
It is one of the most complex events Liverpool City Council has ever staged, involving a team of hundreds.
The Little Girl Giant will emerge from Liverpool’s Stanley Park at 9.30am, before heading to Everton Brow to having a siesta with Xolo. The Giant Uncle will rise up from the water in Albert Dock at 2pm.
Orgnaisers will launch a Sea Odyssey iPhone app designed by Black and Ginger, to help visitors follow the event's route as well as giving them information and interactive tools.
