
The Land of Giants show will evoke stories like Jonathan Swift's Gulliver, the mythical Finn McCool and the ships the Olympic and Titanic, as part of the London 2012 Festival to celebrate the Olympic Games.
Animation, aerial dance, music, fireworks and special effects will be performed to an audience of up to 18,000 on Belfast's new waterside space The Slipways.
A cast and crew of more than 500 people will work on the event which is funded by Legacy Trust UK, Northern Ireland Tourist Board, Belfast City Council and Arts Council Northern Ireland.
Organaiser Giant Events Company will be recruiting for paid and unpaid roles in the production, and running training programmes to improve the skills of the events sector in Northern Ireland.
The Titanic Slipways will also host the on 7 April.
