The first week will concentrate on teaching young people about food hygiene, health and safety, and customer care. The team will also be teach about the importance of the Spirit of Inclusion, a programme created by Sodexo, which looks at diversity and inclusion from an individual, team and business perspective.
In the second week, young people will be given an opportunity to gain real work experience through working in various catering service areas at the college, which are all provided by Sodexo. These include the kitchen, Café Talk, Café Max, the Refectory and general hospitality.
At the end of the programme, there will be a presentation ceremony, with a buffet created and prepared by the participants.
"There are many opportunities in the hospitality industry so we hope that their experience at Deeside College will help them secure work in this area," said Sodexo Education account director Simon Conway.
