BBC Radio 1’s Hackney Weekend will take place from 23 – 24 June at Hackney Marshes.
Local stars Leona Lewis and Plan B will form part of the 80 international and UK acts lined up for the event that will take place on six BBC stages.
"We’re delighted that Radio 1's Hackney Weekend is part of the London 2012 Festival line-up," said London 2012 Festival director Ruth Mackenzie.
"It is a perfect fit with our ambitions for the Festival to appeal to young people, to showcase world class talent and to work with our partners in Hackney."
100,000 tickets will be available for the event and will be allocated to people living in and around London 2012 host borough Hackney.
The London 2012 Festival is the finale of the Cultural Olympiad, a four year cultural celebration of the 2012 Games.
