
More than 12,000 events and performances featuring artists from all 204 participating Olympic nations will take place from 21 June – 9 September 2012.
Around 10 million free tickets are being made available to members of the public for events including Thames-side music festival and .

In Scotland an open-air concert will take place against the backdrop of Stirling Castle, meanwhile Lake Windermere in Cumbria will stage a spectacular pyrotechnic and musical show by French street arts company, Les Commandos Percu. It will mark the finale of the Cultural Olympiad, which began in 2008.
Ruth Mackenzie, director, Cultural Olympiad & London 2012 Festival, said: "The London 2012 Festival will be the largest cultural celebration in our lifetime. With new work from the best musicians, comics, artists, film makers and more, there will be arts events taking place in unusual places all over the UK that will showcase the best in international culture when the eyes of the world are on us this summer."
