The list has increased from three to six caterers. Jackson Gilmour and Searcy's have been retained and are joined by Ampersand, By Word of Mouth, Table Talk, and Dish, while Fizz leaves the list.

Searcy’s has also extended its on-site contract to cater at the museum’s café bar and daytime conference spaces by two years.

More than 20 caterers applied to be on the list. Julie Bouabbane, sales and marketing manager at London Transport Museum, said: "We are delighted to extend our accredited list of caterers at this pivotal time as we head into the 150th anniversary celebrations of the London underground."

The museum has three spaces available to hire. The main area is the Museum Galleries, which can hold dinners for up to 180 or receptions for 500.

The museum reopened in 2007 after being closed for two years for a £22m renovation project.
