Cruickshank, who leaves VideoJug today (27 March), is taking on the role of executive director of digital development at TMG. Her responsibilities will be shared between VideoJug's's senior executives.

Rupert Ashe, VideoJug's chief financial officer, said: "It is unlikely that we will recruit a new chief executive in the next year". However, he added that the company's planned future expansion could prompt it to change its mind.

In the interim, Cruickshank's departure has prompted VideoJug to promote Tom Laidlaw, products and operations director, to chief operating officer.

Additionally, chairman Dan Thompson will take on some of Cruickshank's responsibilities, aided by commercial director Steve Filler.

Ashe added that the company was looking at future acquisitions across a number of sectors, including web offerings in food and drink and beauty.
