LONDON - High-profile appointments at BBDO and John Lewis, with equally high-profile departures at Vodafone and LG. Brand Republic rounds up this week's industry moves in advertising, digital, marketing and media.

BBDO has appointed Peter Sherman, the managing director of BBDO West in San Francisco and Los Angeles, as its managing director for EMEA. Reporting to Andrew Robertson, the president and chief executive of BBDO Worldwide, Sherman is effectively a replacement for William Eccleshare, the former chairman and chief executive for EMEA. Havas-owned Arnold has appointed Andrew Benett, the joint chief executive of its sister agency Euro RSCG New York, as its global chief executive. He replaces Fran Kelly, who is becoming vice-chairman. Benett will be based at the agency's head office in Boston. (±±¾©Èü³µpk10)

Wunderman has appointed Janet Snedden, the former managing director of Tangible Data, as its new director of data. The company has also appointed Nick Fletcher as head of account planning. (±±¾©Èü³µpk10)

DraftFCB has appointed VCCP's Alistair Ross to the new role of head of ideas. Ross will report to Mark Fiddes, the executive creative director of DraftFCB. (±±¾©Èü³µpk10)

Digital

I-level has launched its first dedicated digital creative advertising division and has appointed Alex Miller to lead it. Miller currently heads the agency's social media division, Jam. As part of the division's expansion, Miller has hired its first producer, Francis Rodino. (±±¾©Èü³µpk10)

AOL has appointed European marketing director David Shing to the position of head of media and marketing for AOL Europe. Shing replaces Rohit Agarwal and will report to Kate Burns, head of AOL Europe. AOL US marketing director Eugenia Makhlin has replaced Shing as European marketing director. ()

Digital agency Blue Barracuda has hired media planners and buyers Johnny Style and Curtis Weir from Profero. They will report to media director Andrew Mason. ()

Marketing

John Lewis has promoted Craig Inglis to the new role of director of marketing. Inglis, previously head of brand communications at the retail chain, will continue to report to merchandise director, Jill Little. ()

Tesco Bank has hired HSBC marketer Chris Pitt in the role of director of marketing. Pitt will join later this month from his current position as HSBC's head of marketing and customer propositions, personal financial services Europe. ()

Vodafone has parted company with consumer director Ian Shepherd, the man responsible for running the mobile giant's consumer business in the UK. The role of consumer director will be taken up by Mark Bond, director of strategy, Vodafone UK, until a successor is announced. ()

The chief operating officer of LG Electronics UK, Ward Crawford, has resigned after only eight months in the job "to pursue personal interests", becoming the latest senior figure to leave the company. ()

Lloyds Banking Group (LBG) is set to appoint EDF Energy boss Eva Eisenschimmel to the role of chief marketing officer, as part of a wider management restructure. Eisenschimmel, whose appointment has yet to be approved by the Financial Services Authority, is set to replace Nigel Gilbert. She will report to Helen Weir. ()

Media

Ocean Outdoor has appointed four new sales staff and promoted Claire Shooman to the position of head of digital. MGOMD group account director Katie Algar has been appointed to work on Kinetic business. Danielle Finch joins from Table Talk Media to work with Posterscope and associated agencies. Nick Shaw has joined to work with Kinetic and its media agencies, and Clear Channel Outdoor account manager Sally Butcher has joined to work across GroupM business. ()

Target Media, the specialist media agency, has appointed All Response Media founding partner Cathy McPherson as business development director, as part of the agency's planned expansion. McPherson will report to Target Media's managing director Rob Wilkerson. ()
