Telegraph hires AOL's Moore for senior marketing role

LONDON - Telegraph Media Group has appointed AOL Europe's Michael Moore as executive director of consumer markets.

Moore, currently head of monetisation services at AOL Europe, is to join the Telegraph next month in the role, which involves spearheading marketing, research, strategy and enterprises efforts. Crucial to his duties will be assisting with the development of TMG's multi-media activity.

Murdoch MacLennan, Telegraph chief executive, said: "He will bring with him a creative energy and a new focus to our work and I very much look forward to him coming on board."

Moore, who has been with AOL since 1998, said: "TMG will give me the opportunity to build on my experience but also to contribute to expanding its multi-media efforts."

During his time at AOL he worked in Washington, helped launch AOL Europe and founded the pan European advertising and e-commerce teams in 2000.

Most recently he has been overseeing AOL's search and social networking activity.
