The service enables people to select and play music from the Spotify site on their Google Android phone, the T-Mobile G1 mobile.
Spotify said the service was 'very much a work in progress and is subject to minor change', but was a 'little taster' of its plans.
The demo highlights features including music playback, playlists, offline sync and music search.
Earlier this year, the Swedish start-up hired Gustav Soderstrom, former product director and business development director at Yahoo! Mobile, to lead the development.
Spotify enables users to stream music for free in return for listening to ads.
