
The contract is estimated to be worth £40m, including a predicted £2.5m turnover in the first year.
Smart Hospitality has already invested in state-of-the-art new kitchens worth more than £500,000 as part of the deal at the 28,000sqm venue.
EventCity managing director Andy Orr said: "From the outset of negotiation it was clear that [Smart Hospitality] shared our values of being quality driven, innovative, creative and passionate about delivering events. I look forward to working with all at Smart and raising the benchmark for event delivery."
This week will see Smart work on an event aimed at showcasing the venue – EventCity Live 2013 – on 14 March.
Visitors will be able to see the range of options available for set up within the blank canvas 5,580sqm Hall 4, which has space for meetings of up to 5,000 delegates and dinners of up to 2,500 guests.
Activities also include a spherification demonstration from Smart Hospitality’s molecular food technology team, as well as live cooking demonstrations from Keri Moss, winner of Masterchef 2012.
Smart Hospitality’s chief executive Greg Lawson said: "This is a very exciting time for Smart Hospitality as we see our client portfolio extend with this prestigious contract with EventCity. The venue is a fantastic space and will appeal to a whole host of potential users from conferences, dinners, parties, exhibitions and plenty more."
