
The exhibition venue said the five shows will take place between 17 and 19 May, and will feature performances from a mixture of both ice skating professionals and celebrities, including Beth Tweedle, Olympic gymnast and winner of ITV1’s Dancing on Ice in 2012.
Other famous faces gracing the ice rink at EventCity will include former England rugby captain Kyran Bracken, and Chico, start of the 2005 series of X Factor. The International Ice Stars, a group of former competitors of the Olympics, will also take to the rink as part of the show.
EventCity said it expects to welcome around 10,000 visitors to the Manchester Celebrities on Ice shows later this month.
Andy Orr, managing director of EventCity, said: "Having beaten off competition from more established venues to secure this show, this will showcase the further flexibility of this great arena. The show promises to be a cracker, featuring the best loved performers from Dancing on Ice."
The Celebrities on Ice UK tour will also be hosted at the Braehead Arena in Glasgow, The Sands Centre in Carlisle, Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena, Scraborough Spa, the Royal Derngate in Northampton and the BIC Windsor Hall in Bournemouth.
In February, it was revealed that the would launch at EventCity on 7-8 September.
