Reebok claims 60k players for Lewis Hamilton game

The alternate reality game casts Hamilton, the Formula One (F1) racing driver, in the role of action hero and first launched in March.

Fans can get involved in the game by taking on various tasks to help Hamilton online, via mobile and at live events.

It will run until October and is based around five core missions, of which the first has been completed.

Henry, the Barcelona striker and former Arsenal player, appears in the second mission.

Thieves have taken a priceless sculpture from Henry's art collection and Hamilton's task is to recover it.

Uli Becker, global president of Reebok, said: "As the game progresses people will see appearances from more of Reebok's athletes in different parts of the world.

"'Lewis Hamilton' gives people the chance to interact with them in a new and fun way, and we're delighted with how many people we have reached already, but we've only just started, this game is going to get bigger and bigger."
