Spy, which was founded in 2002 by Simon Clark and Ben Duckett, said it had chosen an original concept that would strike a balance between Purple Consultancy's commercial and community-oriented projects.
The agency already has a client list that includes L'Oreal, Tesco, The Guardian, Oxford University and Claydon Heeley, and will aid Purple Consultancy's target of forging links with a broader range of industries.
Purple Consultancy, which formed in June 2000, said the appointment came at an important time in its development, which recently opened a Leeds office following a number of new client wins.
Toby Thwaites, director of Purple Consultancy, said: "We were particularly impressed by Spy's creativity. They have taken on board all the positive developments that Purple has been undergoing recently and will be looking to reflect our evolution in a new brand identity."
A Spy spokesperson added: "The diversity of our backgrounds allows us the freedom to tackle each project's conundrum with a lateral and flexible solution."
Purple Consultancy specialises in recruitment consultancy for the direct marketing, PR, sales promotion, integrated marketing, digital and publishing industries.
