The industrial-looking foyer was transformed by events company Timebased into a space filled with nail, hair, beauty and champagne bars. Festival sponsors Harrods set up a space downstairs complete with a catwalk and make-up bag surgery.
Fashion lovers attended the event to hear the likes of Alexa Chung, Valentino and Jasper Conran talk about all things fashion. In total 80% of the sessions, which were held in the 900-seat theatre space, were sold out. ‘Vogue Cinema’ played a short feature film throughout the day in Queen Elizabeth Hall’s smaller auditorium.
Vogue’s first festival was held at the Royal Geographical Society in 2012, but relocated to Southbank Centre last year in a bid to expand the size of the event.
Richard Dodgson, creative director at Timebased, told Event: "We’ve got more social media elements involved this year, a bigger shop and an extra mini stage. We wanted to make a statement so that people who have been to this space before saw something completely different."
