Midsomer Murders arrests a million more viewers than Traffic Cops

LONDON - The second hour of 'Midsomer Murders' on ITV1 attracted more viewers than BBC One's 'Traffic Cops,' according to unofficial overnight figures.

Between 9pm and 10pm, 'Traffic Cops' managed 3.9 million viewers, a 16.1% viewing share, while a two-hour 'Midsomer Murders' episode averaged 4.9 million viewers during the same time slot.

At the same time 'Jamie Does... Marrakesh', the first episode in a series of six cooking documentaries following Jamie Oliver as he travels the world seeking out fine foreign delicacies, attracted 2.3 million viewers, a 9.7% audience share, for Channel 4.

'Coast,' BBC2's documentary uncovering the stories of what makes the UK the island it is today, had 1 million viewers, 4.1% of the audience, against ‘NCIS' on Five, which had 1.5 million viewers, 6.1% of viewing shares.

BBC HD achieved just 17,000 viewers for 'Beautiful Minds', which focused on the climate scientist James Lovelock, a 0.07% audience share.
