Intelligent Application platform allows companies to develop professional applications for LinkedIn members in much the way that an army of applications developers have done for Facebook. So far eight companies have got on board.
The applications include tracking software by Company Buzz, which allows members to track what is said about their company on services
Another, called Reading List, by Amazon allows LinkedIn users to share the books they are reading with other members.
Box.net created an application that helps users manage files online and share content securely through their profile.
Travel software company Tripit created an application that shows where LinkedIn members are travelling and when connections will be in the same city.
Google Presentations allows members to embed presentations on their profiles. Slideshare also allows members to share presentations with colleagues.
The WordPress application allows users to sync WordPress blog posts with their profiles in order to share their posts. Similarly, Blog Link by Six Apart allows members to display blog posts on their profile.
Huddle Workspaces gives members private online workspaces with project collaboration tools for working with other members.
