The Kitchenette Summer Pop-Up event, which is being hosted at an old Citroen garage, will take place between 11 July and 28 August.
It will be showcasing a number of restaurants, tastings and demonstrations, as well as giving up-and-coming entrepreneurs information about setting up their own food business.
Kitchenette, which describes itself as a kitchen incubator to help get food businesses off the ground, will be featuring a number of sessions as part of the pop-up. This includes a presentation by Meatliquor founder Yianni Papoutsis about the journey from burger van to restaurant empire. A special Meatliquor stand will also serve Papoutsis’ creations.
Martin Morales of Ceviche Peruvian Kitchen in London’s Soho will host both a tasting and a talk about how he set up his business, whilst Yum Bun’s Lisa Meyer will serve up her signature hand-made steamed buns as well as talking through the ups and downs of her own opening night.
A series of food start-up masterclasses will offer attendees an insight into running a food business, from designing a business plan through to producing a menu.
Kitchenette’s Summer Pop-Up will be serving up dishes from Romantic Chinese Speakeasy by Wong’s, a Vietnamese feast by Bunta, and a pop-up Prosecco bar courtesy of La Piadina Pronta. The Good Egg will also be serving brunch every day.
Borough Market-based restaurant Roast, of which its owner Iqbal Wahhab is also chair of Kitchenette, will be laying on a hog roast. The profits of this will be donated back to the social enterprise.
