Jonathan Gregory to lead England's bid to host the 2018 football World Cup

LONDON - Wembley Stadium commercial director Jonathan Gregory is leaving to take the job of director of partnerships for England's 2018 FIFA World Cup bid.

Gregory will be responsible for the bid's commercial programme, including securing sponsorship partners.

At Wembley, Gregory agreed the deals with founding partners Umbro, Carlsberg and Microsoft. He then signed supplier deals with npower, Walkers, Betfred, national express, Coca-Cola, Nationwide and Nestle.

Earlier this year, the 2018 bid team announced the hiring of former-Manchester United commercial chief Andy Anson as CEO.
