Ford picks EuroDirect's GMAP Consulting for data task

LONDON – The Ford Motor Company has appointed EuroDirect's automotive consulting arm GMAP Consulting to provide network planning and market intelligence.

GMAP Consulting won the business from incumbent Polk in an open tender against several competitor agencies.

GMAP's data resources will enable Ford to obtain used vehicle transactions and registrations data from its DVLA data set while GMAP's consumer intelligence can also be used to identify the types of people buying vehicles.

Intelligence derived from EuroDirect's Cameo Classification and Data Exchange intelligence products, combined with competitor, drive-time and geographical data sets, will help define market areas, model expected revenues and market share.

Dr Mark Whitton, GMAP automotive sales director, said: "Ford is not only the country's car and commercial vehicle market leader, but many of our team have worked closely with it over the years, and are keen to help Ford maximise its opportunities."

John Chesworth, GMAP automotive business development director, added: "Manufacturers, such as Ford, will require access to broad information solutions that link traditional market analysis with detailed consumer data."
