1. Survival essential
Making a shelter, finding food and attempting to escape are going to be high on your agenda -- so which brand will you find most useful in your attempt to tame the great outdoors?
Lowe Alpine: top climbing and outdoor gear that combines looks with effect. A triumph of style and content. And I love the logo.
2. Last taste of civilisation
The island has a plentiful supply of nuts and fruit, not to mention a healthy population of fish, so you will have plenty to eat. But which one food brand are you really going to miss from your old life?
Walkers Cheese & Onion crisps. Can't eat enough of them.
3. Best reminder of home
Successful survivalists always claim that it is mental attitude which sees them through. Belief that you will get back home is going to be vital - so which brand will sum up home best?
Sky Sports. Difficult to remember what life was like before it.
4. Most welcome online brand
Eventually you manage to rig up your own connection to the internet using bits and pieces found on the beach but you have only one chance to log on to a website before it goes down -- which online brand will you choose?
: at some point I'm sure they'd find a way to deliver my groceries right into my cave. With a smile.
5. Ultimate luxury
Self indulgence is hard to come by on a desert island, so what brand would you be most excited to find washed up on the beach?
My Nike driver and a bagful of Callaway balls. Plus some wooden tees.
6. Transferable skills
You already work in the jungle of marketing so there are probably skills which you have acquired through your job which will come in handy -- or you may have other hidden talents. Which of your personal skills will help you to get to grips with life on a desert island?
Optimistic outlook combined with a "don't worry about the stuff you can't do anything about".
Adrian Whitefoord, founding partner of Pemberton and Whitefoord, comments:
Of all the human flotsam and jetsam to have been washed up on the island I find Tim's choices some of the hardest to fault. Lowe Alpine does great gear and I like the way Tim has avoided individual items such as jackets, backpacks or hats and has instead plumped for the brand in totality.
It is probably as well that Walkers Cheese & Onion crisps have been denied to Tim. It is important to keep the waistline trim in case a lightning turn of speed is required to outpace a troop of flesh-eating monkeys.
It would indeed be a wrench to forgo Sky Sports although new sports could be developed on the island to hone mind and body. Prodding hornet nests with sticks is a highly efficient method of improving 50-metre dash times and a dip in the aptly named piranha lagoon is a surefire way improve front crawl technique.
Having a box of goodies delivered to ones cave by Ocado would be grand, but it is important to get into the spirit of island life. I therefore applaud the choice of driver and golf balls. The club could multi task as anything from a sturdy walking stick to a lethal hunting cudgel. If Tim's skill factor is up to it, a well struck ball could result in a tasty seagull supper. The driver is also a highly efficient tool for gouging holes in the ground, or perhaps that is just an idiosyncrasy of my game?
