Burger King names brands president

MIAMI - Burger King has named Christopher Clouser as president of Burger King Brands, a new wholly owned subsidiary of the fast food chain, which will handle marketing services for the retailer as well as own and manage all trademarks and copyrights issues.

Clouser, who is Burger King's executive vice-president and chief global marketing officer, joined the fast food chain in April 2001 from the Minnesota Twins Major League Baseball Club, where he was chief executive and executive board member. Clouser will continue to serve in his current chief global marketing officer role.

Burger King Brands has also hired legal and marketing personnel to provide general corporate marketing and legal services to Burger King. Clouser, as the newly appointed president of Burger King Brands, has also appointed a senior management team from within Burger King.

"The new management team at Burger King Corporation is focused on strengthening this great brand," Clouser said. "As the marketing force for Burger King Corporation, Burger King Brands will focus its efforts to take the Burger King brand to a new level. Already, we have made great strides, having announced a new loyalty programme, strategic alliances and partnerships and a wide range of new product innovations."

Burger King is a part of Diageo, the international food and drinks company.
