Members of the Unite union commenced a five-day strike on Monday, the first of three scheduled walk-outs.

. However, whereas , the carrier has opted for a more moderate approach to communications this time around.

BA yesterday launched its second video of the current walk-out, created by Agency.com, this time featuring head of brand Abi Comber and operations director Andrew Lord.

In the video, Comber states: "We know it's extremely frustrating, but we are doing everything we can to keep flying and we really appreciate your patience and support."

A BA spokeswoman said the airline has opted to feature Comber and Lord to help give a "different perspective from a different part of the business", given the fact that Walsh had given a number of interviews with broadcasters over the past few days.

Meanwhile, the carrier has painted the slogan 'Keep the flag flying' on 12 of its Boeing 777s to push the message that it is attempting to fly as many aircraft as possible during the strikes.
