
It is available free across a series of mobile platforms, including iPhone, BlackBerry and Google Android smartphones.
Users will be able to browse through a series of news sections including business, sport, showbiz, and life and style.
Articles from the mobile application can be saved for later reading and shared on social networking sites, including Twitter and Facebook.
Tim Smith, London Evening Standard general manager for digital, said: "We are excited to introduce our new mobile application so our readers can now enjoy the convenience of having instant access to our trusted news and information, on the go. The mobile application provides an extremely intuitive, personalized experience and supports a great sharing experience."
The application was developed by mobile phone specialist Handmark.
Paul Reddick, chief executive of Handmark, said: "As one of the first media companies in Europe to launch a rich, connected mobile application across all major mobile platforms, the London Evening Standard continues to prove its leadership in delivering on the interests of their readers."

In January 2009, the London Evening Standard was sold to Russian businessman Alexander Lebedev. The title became a freesheet at the end of last year.
