Customers using Android and Blackberry devices will also be able to download a version of the BA app, allowed them access to their Executive Club details and updates on flights.

The app also includes a dedicated travel news section, a page of FAQs, and a Twitter news feed for iPhone users.

Chris Davies, head of digital marketing at BA, said: "Mobility and convenience is key for our customers.

"It's all about improving the customer experience. We're committed to putting our customers in charge, making the British Airways' travel experience even easier."

BA claims to have been the first UK airline to launch an app, which has since been downloaded around 500,000 times.
