Brand Manager of the Week: Aoibheann Foley, brand marketing manager, ELLE

Brand marketing manager, ELLEuk.com, ELLE, ELLE Decoration and Esquire, Hearst Magazines UK.

Describe yourself in three words.

Workaholic. Shopaholic. Chocoholic.

- How would you define marketing?

A continuous process of getting your product closer to its target audience, communicating effectively and engaging them with the product across platforms.

- What would you be if you weren't a brand manager?

A teacher.

- What advice would you give someone starting their marketing career?

Trust your instincts and be passionate about the brands you work on.

- What attracted you to your current job?

The opportunity to work on an amazing brand both onand offline.

- What was your first job?

A marketing internship on a trade magazine.

- How did you get it?

By impressing the marketing director with my (non-existent) knowledge of golf. On his handicap of 10, I said 'Oh wow, that's really good.'He replied: 'No it isn't, but you'll fit right in in the marketing team.'

- What makes you angry?

Bad grammar; litter bugs.

- What's your favourite holiday destination?

New York City. The proximity of The Hamptons means you can have a city and beach break combined.

- What's your favourite pub?

The Owl & The Pussycat on Redchurch Street - they do a killer Bloody Mary.

- If you were a brand, what would you be and why?

Chanel: classic and timeless.

- If you could get tickets to any event, what would it be?

The Monaco Grand Prix - pit-lane tickets, obviously.

- If you had three wishes, what would they be?

Health and happiness for me and my loved ones, and maybe a collection of Chanel handbags.
