Bilefield takes over Conde Nast International's digital operations

LONDON - James Bilefield is taking over as president of Conde Nast International's new media division, replacing Stefano Maruzzi.

At the same time, the division is being renamed Conde Nast International Digital.

It covers all of Conde Nast's digital operations outside the US -- a total of 71 websites at present, including magazine sites for titles such as Vogue, GQ and Glamour, and dedicated web properties.

Bilefield was formerly CEO of OpenX, the open source advertising platform.

Prior to that he has worked for Skype, where he led the international business development; and Yahoo! Europe, where he was managing director of communications and network services.

He was also a co-founder of local information site UpMyStreet.com.

Jonathan Newhouse, chairman of Conde Nast International, said: "Bilefield is a talented executive who has demonstrated a command of new media and the ability to get results.

"He is just the person needed to lead our digital growth."

Maruzzi has left the company to return to Italy for personal reasons.
