The publisher's interactive division, CondeNet, has a major programme of development planned for this year. It will kick off with the relaunch of Vogue.com this month, followed by the launch of Vogue Mobile in the second quarter. The relaunched site will feature greater online TV output and more blogs from key fashion names such as Paul Smith and Henry Holland.
This activity will be followed by the relaunch of Glamour.com in July.
Internationally, Conde Nast plans to roll out its men's portal MenStyle.it, which encompasses Men's Vogue, Conde Nast Traveller and GQ, into fresh European markets, starting with France and Spain.
Stefano Maruzzi, international president of CondeNet, said there were plans to launch several new products this year. However, he warned that the growth of digital advertising is insufficient to compensate for declining print revenues.
According to Maruzzi, the publisher had a number of concerns about its digital activities, including the effect it might have on its print editions and how it should be structured. Its current strategy involves a combination of magazine brand sites and stand-alone portals such as StyleFinder.com.
The increased investment follows the appointment of Emanuela Pignataro as Conde-Net's UK country manager. She joined Conde Nast in January 2007 as international strategy director and was previously marketing and communications director of Microsoft EMEA.
