
Autoglass plans to double marketing spend to £30m in a bid to boost sales by as much as 20%.
The windscreen repair and replacement specialist is starting with the sponsorship of Sky Sports News Afternoon Update, following the channel’s relaunch in high definition in August.
It has signed a six-month deal, brokered by Starcom, and will use a series of 15-second idents showing hapless sportsmen who require the service of Autoglass.
The idents were created by Tellyville, which is the visual arm of Radioville, and produced by Outlook.
At the same time, Autoglass is looking at using social media to connect with consumers, having set up a where the new idents can be viewed.
David Meliveo, marketing director of Autoglass, said: "The sponsorship of Sky Sports News is part of our strategy to propel our Superbrand status and cement our position as one of the top service providers in the UK."
Meliveo said Autoglass had already doubled its adspend over the past two years.
