The Ashes edition will be distributed outside London's mainline railway and tube stations on the morning of the opening Test match on 8 July. For one week the usual publication date will move forward from a Friday to a Wednesday to coincide with the start of the Ashes.

Flintoff has been working closely with staff on the special edition. He set the questions for interviews with England captain Andrew Strauss and Australia captain Ricky Pointing.

Sport magazine was re-launched in June after it was acquired by UTV Media, the owner of talkSPORT. It had an average weekly circulation of 317,257 for second half of 2008, most recent ABC figures show.

The magazines online sister title, TalkSPORT Magazine, last week published its 50th issue. Its weekly circulation figure has increased to 176,407 according to the latest ABCe results for May.
