Aegis acquires Bluestreak.com for $12.5m

LONDON - Aegis Group has acquired ad serving business Bluestreak.com for $12.5m (£6.3m), and will integrate the firm into digital network Isobar.

, which has offices in Rhode Island and London, specialises in campaign management, optimisation and analysis for online advertising, has an existing client base across the US, UK, France and Germany, and is credited with engineering the first rich-media ad in the US for Pfizer's Zithromax.

Aegis said the acquisition of Bluestreak.com would allow it to give ad customers the ability to "measure activity beyond the click" for online ads.

It is understood that staff at Bluestreak.com will be transferred into Isobar to form a new digital business offering from the two company's ad serving technologies.

Robert Lerwill, chief executive officer at Aegis, said: "Ad serving is in the spotlight right now, and we believe the combination of media and ad serving is the most interesting of all.

"While we will continue to work with other industry ad servers, owning our own technology in-house will give us a step change in product development across both search and display."

Last week, Aegis Group acquired US-based full service experiential agency Vivid Marketing for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition follows that of WPP Group buying 24/7 Real Media for $649m (£329m) in cash in May.
