Aegis builds iProspect network with Thai search acquisition

LONDON - Aegis has acquired Thailand's leading search marketing specialist Globlet for £100,000, which will join its iProspect network.

Globlet provides search engine marketing consultancy and technical execution for a range of local clients across the retail, technology, healthcare and property sectors.

The agency will be rebranded as iProspect Thailand once its staff are trained and certified in search best practice by the iProspect network of search specialists owned by Aegis' digital network Isobar.

Its skills will complement Thai digital agency Digithais, which has been part of Isobar since 2005.

Aegis has already acquired search businesses in Belgium, Holland and Germany this year in a bid to achieve a global roll-out of iProspect.

It already has iProspect offices in Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia.

Robert Lerwill, chief executive of Aegis, said: "The search market in Thailand is young, with exciting prospects. Globlet offers an immediate boost to our search capabilities, and will reinforce our position as Thailand's number one digital agency."
