Wild at Heart still going strong with 6.8m viewers on ITV

LONDON - The third instalment in the latest series of ITV1's South Africa-set drama 'Wild at Heart' won the 9pm slot last night with 6.8m viewers and a 26.3% share of the audience, according to unofficial overnight figures.

BBC One's new drama 'A Short Stay in Switzerland', in which Julie Walters plays a doctor from Bath, captured 4.7m viewers and a 19.7% share of the audience in the same slot.

'Explore: Patagonia to the Pampas', a new four-part wildlife documentary series, brought BBC Two 2.2m viewers and an 8.7% share of the audience between 9pm-10pm.

Channel 4 aired the third instalment in the Hollywood superhero franchise -- 'X-Men: The Last Stand' -- which had 2.4m viewers and a 9.2% share of the audience between 8pm-10pm. Including viewers on Channel 4+1, it earnt 2.8m viewers.

Five showed Kurt Russell action thriller 'Executive Decision' between 9pm-11.35pm -- it was watched by 1.1m viewers and a 6.5% share of the audience.

On Saturday night a 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire?' celebrity special, featuring 'GMTV' news anchor Penny Smith and TV presenter Anneka Rice answering questions to raise money for Maggie's Centres, pulled in 4.3m and an 18.6% share of the 8.45pm-9.45pm audience on ITV1.

The show also saw comic Jo Brand, who was answering questions for Animal Rescue, teaming up with comedian and actor Nick Hancock, who was supporting the Captive Animals Protection Society.

BBC One medical drama 'Casualty' pulled in the highest audience of the night with 6.6m and a 27.8% share of the 8.25pm-9.15pm audience.

It was followed by 'Outtake TV', which attracted 3.6m viewers and a 16% share of the 9.15pm to 9.45pm audience. This week Anne Robinson presented a selection of outtakes featuring problem props, fluffed lines and technical nightmares, including clips from 'Sense and Sensibility', 'Little Dorrit' and 'The Office'.

Five's 'CSI: NY', which saw Detective Mac Taylor dealing with the case of a man found stabbed to death in the toilet while on board a bumpy flight, drew 2.8m viewers and a 12.9% share of the 9.15pm to 10.15pm audience.

BBC Two's documentary '1929: The Great Crash' netted 1.8m viewers and a 7.7% share of the 9pm-10pm audience, beating Channel 4's airing of 'Elizabeth', starring Cate Blanchett, which pulled in 1.3m viewers and a 6.4% share of the 9pm-11.20pm audience. Channel 4+1 added 67,000 viewers.
