Hustle pulls in 5.4m viewers on BBC One

LONDON - BBC One drama 'Hustle', starring Robert Vaughn, attracted 5.4m viewers beating ITV1's 'Total Emergency' documentary by 2.1m, according to unofficial overnight figures.

The second episode of the new series of 'Hustle', which saw the team targeting a pair of greedy businessmen who make money from stealing other people's ideas, pulled in a 23% share of the 9-10pm audience.

ITV1's 'Total Emergency' documentary series, following the work of the three emergency services in Sheffield, netted 3.3m viewers and a 13.9% share in the same slot.

It was matched by BBC Two's 'Victorian Farm' documentary, which attracted the same viewing figures.

The six-part series follows historians Ruth Goodman, Alex Langlands and Peter Ginn, as they attempt to work a Shropshire farm as if it is still the late 19th century, including chopping up chaff for the livestock and wringing the week's laundry.

'Celebrity Big Brother' drew 2.8m and an 11.7% share to Channel 4, including Channel 4+1 figures.

Last night the housemates discovered they had failed their shopping task, which involved dressing up as toys, attempting to eat whole jars of honey and performing a piece of music with their feet on a giant piano.

Five's airing of crime thriller 'Quicksand', starring Michael Keaton and Michael Caine, scored 938,000 viewers and a 4.5% share of the 9-11pm audience.
