Celebrity Big Brother double eviction draws 3m viewers

LONDON - 'Celebrity Big Brother's' double eviction show, which saw LaToya Jackson and Scottish politician Tommy Sheridan booted out of the house, pulled in 3m viewers on Channel 4, according to unofficial overnight figures.

The first instalment of the night, which showed the housemates successfully completing an American-themed task and watching Barack Obama's inauguration, attracted 2.7m viewers and an 11.4% share of the 8pm to 9pm audience on Channel 4.

The second show an hour later gained 300,000 extra viewers who tuned in to see LaToya and Tommy evicted from the house, after receiving the least votes to win from viewers. It attracted 3m viewers and a 15.4% share of the 10pm to 10.45pm audience, including Channel 4+1 figures.

The final part of Channel 4's 'Big Chef Takes On Little Chef' tied with BBC One's 'The Secret Life of Elephants' for the top spot in the ratings battle, each drawing in 4.2m viewers and a 17.8% share of the 9pm to 10pm audience.

Last night's 'Big Chef Takes On Little Chef' saw Michelin-starred chef Heston Blumenthal conclude his three part mission to revamp the menu of roadside restaurant chain Little Chef.

The second episode of BBC One's 'The Secret Life of Elephants' documentary, narrated by Sarah Parish, saw elephant calf Breeze facing the challenge of surviving the dry season.

Five's airing of Wesley Snipes thriller ' The Contracter' netted 2m viewers and a 9.9% share of the 9pm to 11pm audience, beating the second part of BBC Two's 'The City Uncovered with Evan Davis' which drew in 1.7m viewers and a 7.4% share of the 9pm to 10pm audience.

ITV1's factual drama 'Stockwell' about the shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes by police who mistook him for a suicide bomber pulled in 1.4m viewers and a 6.1% share of the 9pm to 10pm audience.
