Wallpaper launches online venture to sell prints

LONDON - Design and fashion magazine Wallpaper is to launch a new online venture selling limited edition prints from the magazine's archives.

The project, called Wallpaper Selects, is a collaboration between the magazine and contemporary art publishers Eyestorm. It offers readers of the magazine the chance to own work by some of the world's most acclaimed photographers.

The photographs are signed and numbered as limited editions. They have all been exclusively commissioned for the pages of Wallpaper and have never before been available to buy.

The prints will be sold on the Wallpaper Selects website www.wallpaperselects.com and are produced in editions of 10, 20 or 30. Photographers featured in the first collection are Jonathan de Villiers, Mauricio Alejo, Jonathan Frantini, Christopher Griffith, Stefan Ruiz, Daniel Stier, Benedict Redgrove and Joël Tettamanti.

Tony Chambers, Wallpaper's editor-in-chief, said: "Wallpaper works with the world's most exciting photographers, despatching them to far flung places to shoot boldly and beautifully. We receive many enquiries from readers asking if they can buy the photographs we feature, so we expect Wallpaper Selects to be very popular."

Gord Ray, Wallpaper publishing director, added: "People have never before been able to own a piece of Wallpaper in this way and the photographers involved make it an even more attractive opportunity. Eyestorm is the leading online retailer of limited edition contemporary art so is the perfect partner to launch Wallpaper Selects."

Eyestorm has been publishing high-quality limited edition prints since 1999, and has published artists such as Damien Hirst, Helmut Newton and more recently Antony Micallef.

Nick Magliocchetti, Eyestorm CEO, said: "This collaboration will draw on Eyestorm's publishing talents and Wallpaper's incredible archive and we are all very excited with what the future holds for this relationship."
