Bosses claim the website, which is designed by I-D Media and built by IPC Media鈥檚 ignite! development team, will complement the magazine rather than duplicate it.
The new site will draw on the expertise of the magazine鈥檚 editorial team, and will be updated weekly, containing features on interiors, design, travel, architecture and fashion.
It will also aim to provide both regular readers and design-savvy web users with an online directory to the title鈥檚 essentials.
Richard Johnstone, publishing director of the Wallpaper Group, said: 鈥淲allpaper is often used as a point of reference by the international design community.
鈥淎s a result, wallpaper.com will meet this demand by giving people access to our content, whilst also allowing us further extend and market the Wallpaper brand.鈥
Lex De Wynter, from I-D Media, added: 鈥淭he challenge of this project was to translate the magazine鈥檚 unique design aesthetic into the digital domain, without compromising usability or functionality.
