Virgin Radio to unveil Lucozade listener competition

LONDON - Virgin Radio has developed a one-month long feature for Lucozade Energy on the afternoon show with Suggs, which will involve listeners revealing their most embarrassing moment and uses the brand's new positioning of helping people 'get their edge back'.

Lucozade Energy is sponsoring the station's Afternoon Tea With Suggs programme, which airs from 2 to 4pm on weekdays. It will be challenging listeners to 'get their edge back', by winning a crate of Lucozade Energy, in exchange for their most embarrassing story.

Listeners need to register with their most embarrassing moment, with the best one to be read out on air by Suggs daily. The competition will feature on Christian O'Connell's Breakfast Show for one week, beginning April 30. O'Connell will offer listeners a tailor-made prize to help them 'get their edge back'.

Virgin Radio is also asking listeners to call in with their favourite motivational song, with the favourite choices to be played on Suggs' show, as part of the Lucozade Energy sponsorship deal.

Jenny Hall, brand manager at Lucozade Energy, said: "Suggs will really involve the listeners and the results should be hilarious. Virgin Radio is the perfect partner for the promotion.

"It will engage with our target audience at a time of day when they might be starting to feel like they're losing their edge."
