VIDEO: Debenhams returns to TV advertising today

LONDON - After a two-year hiatus Debenhams is promoting itself on TV again from today with an ad campaign voiced by 'Withnail & I' actor Paul McGann - watch it now.

The £2m ad seeks to reposition and will carry the strapline "Design in every department", replacing its former slogan "Styling the nation".

Directed by Thomas Napper, assistant director of the 'Atonement' and 'Pride and Prejudice' films, the ad features Roxy Music's 'Love Is The Drug' soundtrack.

It is set to debut during tonight's episode of 'Coronation Street'.

JWT London won the £15m Debenhams ad account in April. Miles Calcraft Briginshaw Duffy resigned the business in order to pitch for the £20m John Lewis account, which later went to Adam & Eve.
