V&A Museum renews eDigital contract for visitor surveys

LONDON - The Victoria & Albert Museum has renewed its 12-month contract with online market research company eDigital Research to develop its online museum experience.

Results of eDigital Research-generated surveys will produce a demographic profile of the online visitors, and by having looping strands in surveys, V&A will explore the varying objectives of particular visitors to identify specific habits and needs of its online audience.

V&A recently relaunched its website and part of eDigital's new terms of business will be to provide the museum with access to recent website developments, future website content and marketing opportunities.

EDigital signed its first contract with V&A in 2004 to poll opinions on the accessibility and presentation of the galleries on the website.

Mark Moxon, web developer for the V&A, said: "We are now compiling the results, which will influence content division."

According to Moxon: "In creating the V&A experience online, we can reach the many people who just don't have the opportunity to visit the museum, whether they live in the UK or on the other side of the world."

The current contract runs for 12 months and is up for renewal in February 2006.
