
Tickets to the event, , were released to the public at midday today (2 October).
The partnership with Unicef will encourage ticketholders to come together for the first ever New Year’s Big Resolution, which promises to be a 'unifying moment' that will raise awareness to the lives of vulnerable children around the world.
This will be accompanied by the standard programme of music, countdown and fireworks at midnight on 1 January 2016. Further details regarding Unicef’s plans for the event are expected to be announced in due course.
Corporate sponsorship opportunities are now also open to brands. The event will see 100,000 people attend live, while more than one billion are expected to watch the broadcast.
will work with the Mayor's office to produce the event for the 12th year.
Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London, said: "I am thrilled that we are linking up with a global organisation like Unicef to mark the start of 2016 by bringing people together for a shared moment of goodwill to raise awareness and benefit children around the world."
